FACTORY CERTIFICATION: WHY IMPORTANT?
Reputable Fitness Dealers and Manufactures Agree Using a Certified Technician Helps Take the Guesswork Out of Finding a Good Technician
Finding a competent fitness equipment technician need not be a matter of chance. Much of the guesswork has been eliminated, thanks to the manufacturers such as Precor, Life Fitness, Matrix, Woodway, Landice, True Fitness who have established a network of certified technicians. In these networks you can find technicians that have been factory trained on the product. Each technician is trained by a factory professional and in some cases a technician is required to pass an exam successfully. Locating a certified technician is as simple as contacting the manufacturer of your equipment. They will refer you to a local certified technician.
Certification Benefits Fitness Equipment Owners
Fitness Equipment Manufacturers certify the technical competence of individual technicians, not the company. Before taking the factory training, many technicians attend training classes or study on their own in order to brush up on their knowledge. By passing difficult, national tests, certified technicians prove their technical proficiency to themselves, to their employers, and to their customers. What’s more, because of the complexity of today’s fitness equipment, factory certification becomes a self-selecting credential that weeds out the incompetent. And while the fitness equipment manufacturers do not certify repair companies or police individual business practices, it stands to reason that those repair company owners and managers who support their service employees’ efforts to become technically certified will be as concerned about the other aspects of their business as well.
How Certification Works
Most Fitness Manufacturers require that technicians take their certification before being qualified to work on their product. Technicians are then required to be re-certified every 2-years. There are also certifications that show the different level of the technical ability of the technician.
Selecting a technician to repair your equipment should be one made with confidence. We hope this information was helpful to you.
